Dr. Veena Hedatale, a scientist of repute in the field of Genetics is also an accomplished Carnatic classical vocalist and a teacher. She has been teaching students and giving concerts across the globe to critical acclaim since decades. She has trained under gurus Karnataka Kala Shree Smt. Jambu Kannan and Padma Bhushan Sri Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan.
A graded artist of All India Radio, Bengaluru, she has been recognised with numerous prestigious awards for her contribution in classical, semi-classical, and light music, both at the state and national levels. Notable among them are Sethulakshmi Bai Memorial Award and the Award of Honour by the Aryabhatta Cultural Association.
Outside of her concert performances, she is a passionate teacher who finds her calling in nurturing young talent, composing music and contributing her singing to recording, fusion music and dance performances.
